Job Description:
Harobed & Associates is currently seeking a full time and experienced Accountant to join a fully established Foreign Exchange Trading Company located in Wuse II, Abuja. This position is the core operational arm of the company's bookkeeping and accounting functions.
The Successful Candidate will process Profit & Loss reconciliations each period, perform cash deposit reconciliations, audit accounts, interpret financial data, forecasting, inventory management, handle all company tax matters as well as other accounting period close tasks to ensure the company's daily accounting functions run precisely and effectively. The ideal Candidate should have a high level of integrity and accountability, with a minimum of 2 years accounting and auditing experience within the service industry.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Processing any relevant business transactions, like accounts payable and receivables, disbursements, receipts etc
Preparing and maintaining accounting documents and records (such as bank deposits, statements, etc)
Manage financial systems and budgets
Maintain daily cash flow reports, post customer payments and reconcile all cash accounts
Set up and maintain vendors within the system
Prepare and process payroll and deduction schedules
Administers the petty cash impress and other unplanned payments for services following on Management's approval
Manage tax application and expense reporting
Undertake financial audit (an independent check of the Organisation's financial position)
Prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts
Arrange financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting
Responsible for inventory control accounting functions
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
A minimum of Two (2) years' experience in core Finance, Accounting and Auditing roles
Professional Level ICAN Certification is an added advantage
Must have relevant knowledge of the Nigerian Tax Regime and Administration
Practical proficiency in the use of Sage, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems
Advanced aptitude in MS Office Applications
Fast thinking and a brilliant handle on cognitive numerical calculations
Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
Confidentiality management and ability to prioritise
