Responsibilities

Ensure provided keywords are included in the articles for SEO but with an understanding that quality content for our target audiences builds trust and keeps Superside a go-to source for content that resonates.
Edit and proof articles for editorial excellence, fact-checked and sniff-tested, and optimized to meet marketing goals.
As a design company, quality feedback is essential. You’ll provide actionable feedback and coach content specialists and managers to find their voice and create world-class content.
Own the Superside style guide, iterate upon it, and promote adherence to it.
Demonstrate a meticulous approach, a highly organized process, and a keen eye for detail. Since this is the first editor role on our team, you’ll have the opportunity (and challenge) to set up processes and workflows from scratch.
Write briefs that speak to particular brand personas, understand why it matters to Superside and whether it needs to be created in house or is fine to use a freelancer.
Recruit, manage, and grow an external team of experienced freelance writers and contributors (ideally with SMEs in the design niche).
Although traffic is important (and we will continue to produce content that helps to boost our overall SEO strategy), the main goal of our team is to drive quality content downloads and call requests. As such, the ideas and execution of the content you work on will be tailored towards hitting those goals.
You will pull key metrics to measure the effectiveness of our content efforts, using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush and Google Data Studio that will inform our content strategy moving forward.
We don’t expect you to do it all alone. You will have the support of our large marketing creative team to help give your content ideas a visual execution. You’ll collaborate with our Head of Content Leads and Director of Content to improve our content strategy, our SEO team to ensure content is created with the right search intent, and our Content Marketing, Social Media, and Community managers.
 

Requirements

6+ years of experience in various Editing, Content or Writing roles.
You have an eye for what great content looks like and know how to restructure and tweak to improve its performance.
You’re an exceptional editor who can craft compelling content for an audience of marketers and designers.
You know what makes a clickable headline and how to delicately weave in calls to action and tastefully showcasing our product like a friendly consultant.
You’ve worked in content at a SaaS/tech company or an agency, and are more than familiar with the goals of content and demand gen.
You know how to hook readers in the intro, guide them down to the end, but also understand internet readers love to skim.
You’ve previously managed a handful of freelancers or full-time writers.
You’re familiar with content-related SEO, such as keyword research and optimization.
You understand that deep research can be the differentiator between good and mind-blowing writing that connects and influences readers.
You can run a tight, rigorous process and manage multiple projects and stakeholders at once.
You have an eye for design, and understand how to work well with creative teams.
You are good with a high degree of flexibility and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
You possess the desire to roll up your sleeves, execute, and create scalable processes within a growing company.
You are self-motivated and will constantly seek out ways to help the company with reach and efficiency.
