Responsibilities

Creating product documentation and tutorial videos for BuddyBoss and all our products / features and enhancements
Creating documentation for product integration
Creating plugin, theme review, and tutorials
Providing peer review of content authored by release teams
Playing with our new Product features (before they are launched), and using our written scopes and Loom videos in JIRA to shape the user experience and journey
Talking to the Product team members for any needed clarification
Writing scripts for video tutorials
Configuring demos for our all scripts and tutorials
Working closely with the marketing team to plan products promotions and campaigns
Becoming very comfortable with writing in the BuddyBoss brand voice
Gaining a deep understanding of our products and marketing strategies
Testing products to get a deep understanding of all the features and reporting bugs you find as you create documentation
Researching copy angles, gathering social/scientific proof and understanding market messaging
Understanding our audiences’ wants, needs, and pain points
Crafting compelling copy for a variety of mediums/campaigns including emails, websites, product pages, landing pages, ads, videos, webinars, case studies, transactional pages and social
Writing copy that is clear, compelling and concise but also compassionate and creative
Other related responsibilities, as we see fit

Requirements

Proven working experience in technical writing of WordPress related software documentation (Themes and Plugin documentation)
You have 5+ years of relevant work experience as a technical writer in the software or infrastructure industry, writing developer guides and API reference documentation.
Experience with Version Control Systems such as Git, Pull Request Reviews and Continuous Integrations tools.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and hold a degree in a Technical Discipline.
Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to details
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
Excellent written skills in English
Strong working knowledge of WordPress
Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
