Responsibilities
Develop, test and maintain complex animation systems in conjunction with animators, gameplay programmers, and other team members as required.
Provide technical support on the animation tools and Unreal Engine systems
Assist in the design, integration, and validation of animation assets.
Create and maintain state machines and other relevant systems utilizing animation blueprints in Unreal Engine.
Develop technical animation pipelines and tools to deliver cutting edge animations
Creating tools and setups within Maya to assist artists
Define how elements within projects will interact, build, transition, and function from the concept stage, to final implementation
Creatively and proactively solve resource-restricted tech challenges (ie exporters)
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a technical animator, in the gaming industry
In-depth knowledge of Maya’s animation toolset and the Unreal Engine animation pipeline.
Experience creating animation tools within Maya, using Mel/Python scripting.
Self-driven with the ability to work independently for extended periods
Strong understanding of character and set animation pipelines
Proficiency in rigging and skinning
Comes with other skill sets, such as shading.
