Job Summary

Responsibilities

Help establish, develop and maintain linguistic resources for your language (glossaries, style guides, translation memories)
Be the guarantor of quality for content in your language across all product touch points, critically assessing incoming work against an established framework
Assist occasionally with project management tasks (preparing translation projects and briefs, keeping track of schedule/budget, reviewing incoming translations)
Contribute to the success of our partnerships with LSPs and freelancers (supporting external teams, answering questions, assisting with terminology research, etc.)
Support Skillshare teams on local initiatives, ensuring they are culturally relevant, appropriate and tailored to the expectations of the target market
Translate strings for our user interface (website and mobile applications) and tackle ad-hoc translation requests (emails and marketing campaigns, briefs, contracts)
Contribute your expertise to ensure the ongoing success of localization operations

Requirements

You are a linguistic and region specialist for your target market, and you have experience managing language quality in the context of a localization program
You have hands-on experience working with linguists, localization service providers, term bases, translation memories, localization and QA workflows, and know what to look out for to prevent challenges and to root out issues
You implement a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to tasks and problems, and you are able to work both independently and in collaboration with large teams
You are fluent in English and a native speaker of either French, German, Latin American Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese
