Job Summary

Location: Lagos

 

The human resources manager is an employee under the local law, employed by the AFN (Association Francaise de Nigeria), the management body of the establishment.

This position is placed under the authority of the Principal and by delegations under the functional authority of Admin/ Finance Director.

 

Mission

Assist and advice the finance director on all the areas of Human Resources (Legislation, Career Management, Recruitment, Training, Remuneration in line with internal work regulations (Handbook) and drafting of contracts);

Carry out the timetables in connection with the various departmental heads and the school management team;

Ensure the punctuality and respect of schedules of all employees;

Ensure the compliance of handbook by all employees;

Drafting, formalization and updating of all job descriptions;

Coordinate all activities related to the HR project by ensuring their control and upgrading;

Ensure the quality of labor relations, where appropriate participate in staff representative bodies and dialogue with staff representatives;

Propose promotions or corrections following annual appraisal of individuals;

Manage HR development in conjunction with the DAF: offer training, reclassifications or recruitment to meet the specific needs of the school;

Participate in payroll administration;

Ensure regular reporting to the management organization and the school management team;

Publish an annual report (social report) on human resources management.

 

Requirements

Master’s Degree or Professional course related to HR

Experience in the field is desirable (3-5 years).

 

Required Skills

 

The HR manager must demonstrate a good skill in labour relations and a mastery of work organizational issues;

Knowledge of the functioning of a French high school abroad;

Mastery of IT tools (word, Excel) and if possible specific tools (Sage, EDUKA);

Sense of organization ;

Diplomatic and Firmness in the application of measures and in relations with staff;

Ability to carry out several projects simultaneously (Multi-task);

Ability to be independent ;

Fluent in English and fluency in French if possible.
