Job Summary

Responsibilities

Develop Knowledge Management and Communications Plan (30%)

With Save the Children International, support knowledge management efforts around localization and partnership in international development and humanitarian contexts, to identify case studies for external communications, concept notes and proposals.
Informed by the broader strategy to engage US public sector, Foundation and corporate donors in Save the Children’s localization initiative, develop an external communications plan to showcase Save the Children’s comparative advantage in working with local partners to advance child rights.
Help identify events with speaking opportunities for Save the Children local partners to discuss their programming and advocacy efforts.


Implement Knowledge Management and Support External Communications (70%)

Liaise with Save the Children International and local partners to produce creative and compelling communication materials such as powerpoint presentations, blogs, webinars, infographics and photo-stories that raise the profile of Save the Children and its partners.
Support local partners and Save the Children country offices to prepare for external events to showcase locally-led programmatic and advocacy efforts that advance child rights, e.g., coaching to develop presentation skills, support for story-telling, selection of case studies.
Support local partners and Save the Children country offices preparing for funding and capacity-sharing opportunities from US donor accounts to articulate Save the Children’s past performance and track record on locally-led development.
As needed, support Save the Children senior managers with talking points and materials about our localization efforts with partners.
Liaise across the Save the Children movement to ensure on-line platforms including websites and the Resource Center have materials that showcase local partners and localization efforts.
Ensure rigorous knowledge management and evaluation of external communications plan.


Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of US bilateral donor, Foundation and corporate donor priorities for locally-led development in international and humanitarian contexts.
Proven track record in knowledge management and external communications planning and execution, with experience producing written and multi-media communications materials.
Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
